Business Consultant Key Duties

-Provides timely and quality risk management services to clients, and communicates pertinent information to the
Underwriting and Marketing functions to assist in writing and retaining profitable business.
 

-Serves as an expert advisor to Underwriting and Marketing personnel to assist in decisions related to the
acceptability and pricing of quotes and renewals.
 

-Consults and advises clients on the need to eliminate or minimize risk. Influences the adoption of risk
management objectives, assists in the implementation of loss prevention programs, and coordinates the
monitoring of results.
 

-Conducts risk management consultations and/or risk management safety training for clients, associations,
buying groups or other special interest groups as needed and requested.
 

-Contributes to and participates in communication sessions with Marketing and Underwriting. Influences the use
of risk management services in the cultivation of prospects and the management of clients.
 

-Develops, applies, and maintains working knowledge of Company risk management technical policies and
procedures and demonstrates understanding of the property/casualty insurance business.
 

-Manages workload in assigned territory by following the risk consultant priorities of activity and time
management.
