Full-Time News Photographer – Berks County (Job# _478)

WFMZ-TV / 69 News is looking for an energetic, motivated, and creative Part-Time News Photographer to join our award-winning newsroom based in Reading, PA.

This position plays an important role in our Berks County newsroom, gathering compelling visual content for television, digital, and social media platforms. The ideal candidate is passionate about storytelling, thrives in breaking news situations, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Shoot and edit news stories, breaking news, and feature assignments for daily newscasts and digital platforms.
• Work closely with reporters, producers, assignment editors, and newsroom managers to create compelling visual storytelling.
• Operate live news gathering equipment, including TVU and other live transmission technology.
• Capture high-quality video, natural sound, and interviews under deadline pressure.
• Edit stories using non-linear editing systems.
• Drive and operate station news vehicles safely while responding to assignments throughout Berks County and the surrounding coverage area.
• Assist with special projects and station events as assigned.
• Maintain camera equipment and ensure all gear is operating properly.

Qualifications

• Strong storytelling instincts and excellent news judgment.
• Experience with professional video cameras and non-linear editing systems is preferred.
• Ability to work independently while making sound editorial decisions in the field.
• Comfortable covering breaking news, severe weather, and community events.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift and carry professional camera equipment.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Schedule

This is a full-time position that includes evenings, weekends, holidays, and flexible hours based on news coverage needs.
